Interesting facts about Super Mario All-Stars
-According to How Long to Beat’s website the average play through takes about 13 hours to complete.
-According to VGChartz, Super Mario All-Stars has sold over 10.5 million units. Not including re-released versions such as Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World, the Wii release, or the virtual console version.
-Currently, about 6 games are sold per day.
-A compilation of enhanced remakes of the four Mario games released on the NES.
-Fun Fact: The Super Mario Bros 2 that we received in the US, was not the same as what was released in Japan. Which is why in this compilation there is a 2nd game called Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, which was the “true” Super Mario Bros 2 game released in Japan. The game we received was a re-skinned version of a game called Doki Doki Panic. Due to the success of this re-skinned Mario game, the game would be released in Japan as “Super Mario Bros USA.”
-The enhanced remakes of these games would take advantage primarily of the SNES’s graphics and sound capabilities, as well as introduce several methods of saving progress, so you didn’t have to start from the beginning each time.
-There is another version of this game that included Super Mario World as well, which is slightly harder to find, and worth a lot more to collectors.
-This compilation would also be re-released on disc for the Wii marking the Mario franchise’s 25th anniversary! Which is based on the original Super Mario Bros game, and not the Donkey Kong arcade game.
-Consumers could actually get this game for free if they purchased a Super Nintendo, and sent proof of purchase along with payment to cover shipping of $3.50.
