Interesting facts about Rogue
-A truly independently made game, dedicated to public domain software, and intended to be freely distributed to all audiences.
-One of the earliest procedural generating games to change up every game, and introduced the concept of “rogue-like” gameplay that progress restarted after every death.
-When Rogue was finally distributed commercially, and showed great initial success, sales declined rapidly leading to an ultimate flop and failure.
-While the lead developers and designers for both the free and commercial versions are renowned in the industry for what they created, their company would go bankrupt and the team disbanded in 1989.
