Interesting facts about Berzerk
-According to How Long to Beat’s website the average play through takes about 16-20 mins to complete.
-Currently, about 2 games are sold per week for the Atari 2600.
-One of the earliest games to feature speech synthesis implemented for the talking robots. Speech synthesis at the time was unheard of and exceptionally expensive.
-There is an urban legend that Berzerk was the first video game to kill a player, where someone suffered a heart attack during or after having played Berzerk. There is little proof to substantiate this claim as the coroner’s report detailed pre-existing conditions the player had prior to playing Berzerk. Never-the-less, Berzerk has been listed as the first recorded death of an individual playing the game.
