Released on May 17th 2007 for the PS2. Odin Sphere was originally designed as a sequel for a Sega Saturn game called Princess Crown. In the end, Odin Sphere became a spiritual successor, and would be Vanillaware’s first title.
Interesting facts about Odin Sphere
-Publisher Nippon Ichi would later publish for Vanillaware after its president fell in love with Vanillaware’s artwork
-Odin Sphere is technicaly Vanillaware’s first video game, even though it was released after GrimGrimoire. This was due to Atlus publishing Odin Sphere and forcibly releasing a year after development so as to not compete with their own titles. Because of this, GrimGrimoire was released first in April 2007.
